But then, not all media outlets were the same. With some TVs managing well scripted, expert-guided, and well-rehearsed interviews, accusation against Rhea vs that against the family now converted into media vs media war. This was more than a commercial battle, though. It was an ideological battle that represents India of today – a leftist liberal vs Hindutva forces. That brightness of the media was, however, dimmed by the uncontrolled glee of the channels in getting the CBI probe as if it was a distracting lollipop - completely oblivious to what the SC verdict was actually saying. With them accusing the MP day in and day out they had created a bipolar world with them right and the MP wrong. But then, far from praising their findings, the SC instead chose to support the Mumbai Police, If this was not enough to say ‘MP is good media is bad’, the SC did not even site media findings as a reason to give it to the CBI. It was, instead the distrust created by the media among other factors that was given as the reason for the transfer! Thus media’s understanding here was no different than the dimness shown in understanding Modi’s ‘even if a dog..’ of history. The Supreme Court: The Indian Supreme Court not only must have been aware of the findings that the media was reporting, but it also had the ‘inadequate’ files sent by the Mumbai Police. Besides, despite noting down the two blunders made by the MP e.g. not registering an FIR and misbehaving with Patna’s professional colleagues, it, choose to praise the work done by the Mumbai Police! This uncalled for praise for the MP that has not only not investigated the case properly as all can clearly see but broken the law too, is rather surprising coming from the country’s highest justice giver. With even the Chief Justice of India not immune to accusation even of sexual nature, and the case itself suggesting a Middle Eastern connection the question is, does fear have any role in the statement? Indians have not asked this but I ask. Why the third revolution in India? It is interesting that while as a first revolution a Sarvakar inspired and Netaji (INA) led threat of a second mutiny brought about a Congress enjoyed independence of India, and unlike the bloody Iranian Islamic Revolution, a ballot revolution in 2014 swept the sons of the soil seeking real Swarajya to power, this legal revolution – third in the series - is shockingly underway through a single death! A fourth revolution is awaited if India wants to be a global leader. How did this revolution evolve? In the beginning, yes Sushant’s fans alone weren't’ happy with his sudden and unexpected death, and the police calling it a suicide made it worse. The suspense and awareness created by the mainstream media and the social media made it a kind of a movement. As opposed to just another news or even the main news, the media actually made it daily news. Latter was when as a win-win scenario the channels saw a just cause to fight for, the money to be made and the subscribers to be gained. When a suspense movie like goody and baddy was well-defined and a climax (CBI inquiry) was ascertained, almost like its Ramayana serial, whose repetition topped world charts a similar show would not be boring, they thought. When the baddy was in the receiving end of the blame – heavier than just blows- and goody’s daily successful reportage was almost tracing the country’s motto Satyameba Jayate’ the formed suspense thriller was unmissable as the WWE clash. Forget the domination of the primetime spot, Indians didn’t mind a 24 hours coverage that completely demolished the skyrocketing coronavirus statistics even on prime time TV! BJP's unbrushed teeth were unmissable in its grin. Mesmerized by the cocktail of death, beauty, politics, police, drugs, sex and a connection to the underground NRI took it to the global stage. Suddenly even a Polish boy came up with a well-rehearsed ‘I want justice for Sushant’. The Bollywood rulers: Having Mumbai Police as a symbiotic buddy, underground as a cash and threat giver to the makers and defaulters respectively, lineage availing roles even to the dumb and fans giving the adulation like there was no other god life would be purposeless if there was no bliss. Yes, like the Mughal emperor’s harems they had the ‘found’ struggling girls and even guys at their disposal in selective parties But then, even worldly pleasures weren’t worth all that. Drugs had to enter and take them to a different world – a heavenly world. While prior booking of many halls at release made hit movies as certain as tax and death, even bright among the rest had little chance. Although, Ganesh Chaturthi in Bollywood did not vanish, seeing its message giving potential the godly ones next door made sure of its make-belief anti-India/Hindu potential. Desperate to have a say and to increase governance from two to many states even the local godless guys cuddled up in the cozy bed. Carrying secularism and liberalism on their sleeves they had a motorway to the hungry anti-India voices in the West. Yes, the media that would insult the Jewish Holocaust by okaying the recent Delhi communal clash as a genocide! As if trained by the wise man with a bundle of sticks the collective power that Bollywood cocktail had made them good enough to fight against the government and the rest. Besides, being a dream world where gods dwelt it had an army of fans, who would do anything for their gods. Clearly, a wrong touch would bring in an international outcry. Bollywood was impenetrable and its players were collectively untouchable. Yes, each assistant player was symbiotically ‘sworn in’ to voluntary secrecy but the government wasn’t unlettered about the mess. It, however, could do nothing but sulk alone. However, this was not about a right-wing Hindu nationalist party (Western press' favorite term) limiting liberalism, censoring scenes, or banning films that would have easily found its way to the press in the West, not to mention the human and more importantly the religious rights watchers there. This was something entirely different. Yes, almost like the 9/11 jets or unexpected sniper attacks in the Middle East this time in the Sushant’s death probe it was the fallible human evidence and the infallible timed and dated What’s App chats that pinpointed individuals rather than the 'bundle'. The sniper attack effect was clear and damaging. Sensing that and as if airing a battery of lawyers were behind them, the clueless kings found solace in taking the tortoise way of silence or more specifically the ‘silence of the lambs’ against the media hunt, suspicion, and blame. It, however, didn’t work. While their deafening silence instead implied ‘guilty before proven’, the disliked clicks to their movie trailer did not even promise a steady income as before. ‘What a price to pay for killing just one’, they might have thought. The 2nd mistake they made was to confidently shift to What’s app messaging - relying on its end to end encryption.
